Reflection Question: How was my understanding of blues after my performance?

My understanding of blues after my performances is that blues/jazz can be improvise with a lot of instruments and in a different composition. it does not necessarily have to be the same note/ composition. it is fun yo learn and play the jazz music.

Subject/Topic: Blues Improvisation

Reflection Question: How is my understanding now about improvisation especially in blues?

I still a bit confused on how to improvise with flute because i still cannot play the flute correctly till now but i've tried my best so that i could be able to play it better than before. and to be able to improvise with other instrument also (jam) than we have to at least memorize the blues scale.

In today's instrument class, i play the blues scale, and i think i get better and better everyday because i start practicing at home and at school. i hope i will get much more better next time. if we could reach perfect, why not?

Reflection Question: My Challenges working on my 12 bars blues

My challenges working on my 12 bars blues finale task is that i have a lot of test and assignments so that i have a lack of time to do my 12 bars blues, so i somehow need more time to practice.

Reflection Question: How the roles of blues in development of early Jazz?

The roles of blues in development of early Jazz representing their feelings towards the situation that they were facing before. the discrimination and racial conflict is one of the biggest problem they were facing.

In this instrument class, i learnt on how to play the blues scale and i practice to play the notes that Mr.Hary gave us. i think i need more practice so that i can be more fluent to play my flute.

Reflection Question: How does i practice an apply my 12 bars blues at home?

i usually practice my composition on 12 bars blues at home when i have time. i don't really practice that much because i have a lot of homework and i think i am too lazy to practice but i realize i have to practice more so that it will improve my play.

In today's instrument class, i warm up a little but and practice in playing my flute. i learnt more about the blue scale and i think i have improved from the first time i learnt the blues. the blues scale are C D# F F# G A# C.

How is my understanding of blues and applying the 12 bars blues?

I understand that Blues Jazz is a different style of music it got the up note and so on that makes blues slightly different with other jazz. i did the making of 12 bars blues music composition. i think it is interesting because it is a new thing for me.

In this instrument Class. i found it a bit difficult because i have just introduced to it so i need to practice more on my speed and lip placement. i hope i could be more better next time after i practice.

How do you understand Jazz and the Learning of Jazz through your assessment task done?

I learnt that Jazz have a lot of interesting things. It is different with different Genre of music because every Genre have their own unique style and technique. I learnt and understand Jazz by listening to Jazz music over and over again so that i get used to it.

In this week, Mr.Hary continue to tech us the Jazz scales. i found it a bit difficult because i didn't really memorize it so i kinda confused. i really need more practices and have some research about it.

How did i do my essay and how did it affect me when learning and applying Jazz?

I did some research on the internet and i took some notes for the important information. the Essay is not that hard to make because i've learnt about Jazz before, in semester 1. well, basically the essay just improving my knowledge about Jazz

In this week, we learnt about more scales. Mr.Hary gave me some advice o make a woodwind performances and improve our progress in learning the flute. I practices some of the scales and i am happy that i didn't split anywhere in it, so it is quiet a bit of improvement.

Reflection question: How is my progress in learning the roots of Jazz?

From learning the Jazz genre, i got more knowledge of of music especially in jazz. i introduced and practiced a lot of new skills like how to combine every instruments without even practicing it at the first time, it is called the improvisation. i am quiet interested o this topic because Jazz is one of my Favorite genre, because i like how the musician play the song and i also like the melody. it also easy to sing with.

In this week's instrument session , the woodwind students practices the F scale which i think is not that difficult. but my problem is that my flute performance and progress did/does not improve at all until now.

Reflection Question: How did you find the topic of Jazz?

The topic of Jazz is interesting to me because personally, i like jazz a lot. i've sang a lot of jazz songs in my singing performances before, so it is not really that new to me but i got to learn a lot more from Jazz theory, like the history of jazz, the instruments that they are using, and i got to understand more deeply about jazz so it'll increase my knowledge in musics,especially in Jazz.

Subject/ What i Learnt: Jazz scale & Practice on Speed

In this week's instrument session, i learnt about the new topic which is the introduction of the Jazz scale and some couple of scales. Mr.Hary said that i need to work on my speed and how mouth works on blowing the flute. Overall, i really need more practice.
