Close to you with 2nd voice

This video is my video while practice to sing the song "close to you" with the 2nd voice. it does not sound right to me but i don't know is it just me or IT IS not right. but well, since mr. Hary wants me to be the 2nd voice and so be it. i will do whatever best for me and my group

Don't Know Why FINAL

This is the video when i practice for the jazz group ensemble. and i believe this is my last practice so even though i did some mistake in this video but i'm sure i will not have any mistakes later on my performance. this is the final because Mr Herry told me to do stuff and change the note a little bit and adds some singing on it so here we go. i've done it.

C major Scale

This is my video while practicing the C major scale. C major scale is the Major of the Major scales. because it is the basic and i think if you want to learn the scales using flute or any other instruments. we always start with getting to know the c major scale because it is the base and if we already familiar with the C major scale, then. it is easy to play the other scales

another practice for F major scale

this is my video while practicing the F major scale AGAIN well.... that is fine because mr Hary said we need to work on F major scale so i have to practice it more and more and hopefully i can do better next time. but in this video i can play it without any mistakes and i also show you what are the notes and how to play the  F major scale

F major scale

this is my video while practicing the f major scale. here, i show you the slow to fast version even though i have lots of mistake here but that's ok, that's the culture of practicing. practice make perfect. i also show the fingering to make it clear. it is easy but sometimes i miss one or two notes.

Close to You by accompaniment

This is the video where i sing the song called close to you which i use a background music that i got from youtube. i love the accompaniment because it is just the same like what my teacher do. so i can practice it from here. but suddenly my connection was lost so the video stop until then, but at least i showed you about the video right here.

Singing and practicing "close to you"

This is the video when i practice to sing the song called close to you by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. i sang pretty nasty here. it was not that good. i hated my voice here well i think this is what i could do and this is my ability. plus, i sang this right after i woke up so my voice is a bit heavy and soar so it was not good. but i keep practicing to make it better and better everyday. oh yea! i didn't have some warming back then.

This is me while practicing for my group singing assessment. i just sang the song "close to you" by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. i sang the song just like the original song without any changes because Mr. Herry just told us to get to know the songs. and i have watched it on youtube and that's probably the actual melody of the songs. i don't know yet weather i will get the 1st voice or the 2nd or the 3rd because mr Herry did not give us the parts and i hope tomorrow he'll give us the voices so i can start practicing.

another practice on "Don't know why" by Jesse harris

This is my video while practicing for my jazz ensemble. Yesterday Mr. Herry told me to just do the chord for the first 8 bar because the piano and guitar going to do their own thing and play the melody for us. so that the woodwinds should only play the chord for the 1st and the last 8 bars. what we do is only the 3rd to 4th line. and that's all. i think in this practice i make a lot of mistakes because the chord things are new for me even though it is much more easier rather than playing the whole melody. but new stuff never be perfect right? well i think this might be almost the last practice for me but i will try to have another practice if i could to improve my play on this ensemble group.

This is my video while practicing for the group ensemble with my group. i can play it until finish but then Mr herry told the woodwind part to only play the chord such what i have played at the end. i still encountered a lot of mistakes and i hope i will be better next time in my other practices.

i think my music creation is good because i can sense the indonesian culture and melody inside my jingle. it is so creative and interesting. i made it with my partner Gita. we have done well with the video as-well, it is so interesting to watch and i am proud with my group because we've came up with such an amazing ideas. if i have more time to do it, i would make my composition more AMAZING.

Today we have another practice with my ensemble group with our coach Mr, Herry. Today is our last practice before the rehearsal. tomorrow is the assessment day and i am quiet nervous about this. i hope we can do our best to make each of us proud and feel confident.

Reflection question: How is your progress with your jazz band?

My band consist of me, astri, shafiera, gita, dhanes. i play the flute with gita, dhanes plays the guitar, michelle plays the violin, and astri and shafiera plays the piano. my progress with my jazz band is that we've play the song "Don't know why" until 12 bars and i think we've prepared well for our assessment because we've practice a lot with my group.

Today we don't have any instrument class because we use our time to practice with my ensemble group. i think we've done pretty awesome and i am proud of them. we did a great job because everybody is serious about this and thanks for Mr. Herry who have thought us well.

This is my video while practicing for my music ensemble assessment. i play the song which is "don't know why". i still encountered a lot of mistakes because i am not that ready yet. but i somehow going to practice more and more to make it better and better so that later on my performance, i will not facing any mistake and hopefully my group will do a great job. but since we did practice a lot at school and at home, i think my group gong to get a big round of applause because i know we will do a great job, technically.

Today i have done my music performance (jazz ensemble assessment) in front of the class and i think my group did a great job. luckily there is no obvious mistakes on our performance. it sound great and we co-operate very well and i am proud with myself and my group. if i have more time to practice together with my group, i think it could be much more better and surely beat every other group.

Today in theory class, i did my singing assessment with my group which consist of me, astri, shafiera, ichan, and sake. i be the 2nd voice of the choir. my assessment went well and i think i did a great job but i think i am a bit nervous at that time so that my voice is too soft and my body gesture is not that good.

Reflection Question: How is my understanding now about improvisation especially in blues?

I still a bit confused on how to improvise with flute because i still cannot play the flute correctly till now but i've tried my best so that i could be able to play it better than before. and to be able to improvise with other instrument also (jam) than we have to at least memorize the blues scale.

Reflection Question: How did you find the topic of Jazz?

The topic of Jazz is interesting to me because personally, i like jazz a lot. i've sang a lot of jazz songs in my singing performances before, so it is not really that new to me but i got to learn a lot more from Jazz theory, like the history of jazz, the instruments that they are using, and i got to understand more deeply about jazz so it'll increase my knowledge in musics,especially in Jazz.
